Facundo Paraiso is Bacardi's long-aged showcase, a 23 year old column-still rum from Puerto Rico finished in cognac casks and bottled soft at 40%. It is built for elegance and smoothness, a refined, dessert-adjacent sipper that wears its age gently rather than loudly.
The nose is layered, with cocoa, oak, vanilla and caramel. The palate is velvety, with dried fruit, roasted oak, dark chocolate and a soft sweetness, the cognac influence lending a drier, more refined edge toward a finish of oak, raisin, marzipan and a wisp of smoke. The extended ageing gives real depth for the style, and at 40% it stays soft and easy to sip neat.
