A fresh Guadeloupe white agricole of sugarcane, citrus, mint and light florals with a peppery, rounded finish, distilled from cane juice at 50% for a softer but still characterful Ti Punch base.
Description
Bologne is a Guadeloupe distillery on Basse-Terre, and this Black Cane is a white cane-juice rum bottled at 50%. Guadeloupe sits under the more flexible IGP rather than Martinique's strict AOC, but this is a genuine agricole, distilled from fresh-pressed cane rather than molasses.
The creole column run at low strength keeps the grassy, vegetal cane character intact, and here it reads as fresh sugarcane and citrus with mint and light florals over a soft, peppery base. It leans a little rounder and gentler than some of the island's fiercest whites, which makes it an approachable cane-forward sipper while keeping real agricole snap. The added-sugar status is not stated, though agricole whites of this kind are typically dry. At 50% it is a natural Ti Punch and daiquiri base, all fresh cane and citrus lift.
