Description
Cubaney is a Dominican line from Oliver & Oliver, the island's well-known blending house. This is a young expression at three years, sitting at the entry end of the range. Built on Dominican column-still molasses spirit and matured in ex-bourbon oak, it should show the lighter, softer side of the island style, gentle vanilla, light oak and a rounded sweetness. Bottled at a soft 38%, it is aimed at easy, approachable drinking rather than intense sipping. Oliver & Oliver's bottlings tend to lean sweet, and sweetness is not disclosed here, so expect a smooth, gently sugared pour. As a young Dominican rum it works well both as a relaxed glass and as a base for mixing.
