Cane Island Single Island Blend is an eight year Barbados rum drawn from West Indies and Foursquare distillate, bottled at 40%. Built from molasses and aged in ex-bourbon oak, it offers caramel, vanilla, orange and honey on the nose, then a palate of vanilla, tropical fruit and apricot with a round caramel sweetness, finishing on dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and caramel. A little dryness and a touch of late bitterness keep it from being cloying, and it comes across as mild and well balanced if straightforward.
