El Ron del Artesano Rum BA-Sweetwine-Cask is a twelve-year-old Panamanian single cask from the Artesano range, given a finish in a sweet-wine cask and bottled at cask strength. At 52.1% it carries real intensity, a more characterful and individual reading of Panama than the soft commercial bottlings.

Distilled on a column still from molasses and aged in ex-bourbon oak before the sweet-wine finish, it gains a rich, dessert-leaning depth. The nose carries vanilla, caramel, sweetness and wood, the palate brings burnt sugar, oak and caramel, and the finish runs woody and spicy with an espresso edge. The sweet-wine cask pushes it toward a fuller, sweeter style, and some tasters even catch a faintly peaty, whisky-like edge. It is one of the more distinctive Artesano releases, a robust, sweet-leaning cask-strength pour that rewards a drop of water and slow neat sipping.
