A 12 year old Glendullan from Valinch and Mallet, distilled in 2009, from cask 2, at 53.1%, one of 363 bottles. Glendullan is a fresh, grassy Speyside malt of orchard fruit and a malty sweetness. The founding firm merged into Macdonald Greenlees and was absorbed by DCL in 1926, a forerunner of Diageo. It sits on the banks of the River Fiddich, in the heart of Speyside. Since 2007 its single malt has been bottled as the Singleton of Glendullan, aimed at the United States.

The spirit was drawn from a long fermentation, building a clean malt of orchard fruit and a grassy edge. Maturation came in an Oloroso cask, layered over the green Glendullan make. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin rounding out as esters lend a riper orchard and tropical fruit. First fill wood drives the maturation, the cask clear in the light spirit.

Bottled at a cask strength 53.1%, it is concentrated. Apple, melon and a light honey, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. It is fruity and clean, the grassy spirit shining through. The finish is rounded, fruity and clean. This is a clean, fruity Speyside single malt.
