Description
Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin, founded 1895, long held some of the deepest Longmorn reserves, none deeper than the casks behind this 41 Year Old, a 1955 vintage Licensed Bottling. Spirit from Longmorn's mid-century prime, more than four decades in the making.
Four decades in ex-Bourbon worked the rich spirit gently, the angel's share easing it to 40% as alcohol left faster than water in the humid Speyside warehouse.
At 40% it shows the soft, deep maturity of great age over the worn Longmorn richness. A 1955-vintage rarity.
