From Douglas Laing has bottled single casks from its Glasgow base since 1948's Old Malt Cask range, this 21 Year Old is a 1991 vintage from ex-Bourbon cask DL 8256, an outturn of 238 bottles.
Twenty-one years in ex-Bourbon matured the rich spirit, the low-tannin American oak lending vanilla through lignin breakdown.
At 50% it shows mature orchard fruit with a cooked-mash depth over Longmorn's richness, undiluted. An Old Malt Cask 21.
