Description
A Glen Moray of a 27 year old chosen by the bottler Jack Wiebers Whisky World, distilled in 1988, from cask 1341, bottled at 44.4%, one of 204 bottles. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.
Drawn off the stills for a clean, fruity Speyside spirit, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanillin lending vanilla under the apple. Through the evaporative decades the spirit concentrates, esters folding into dried fruit, beeswax and a soft honey. The clean, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and fruit to the fore. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and dried fruit. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear. The light spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum.
Bottled at a cask strength 44.4%, it is rich. Baked apple, vanilla and a creamy toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft vanilla. The finish is rounded, fruity and clean. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside single malt.
