From the bottler Daily Dram, a 29 year old Glen Moray, distilled in 1991, bottled at 52.3%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from La Martiniquaise, light and approachable in style. Its water is drawn from the River Lossie, which runs past the distillery at Elgin.

Run through the stills on River Lossie water for a light make, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the light spirit. At this evaporative stage ellagitannins lend a drying structure while oxidation builds a richer, dried fruit. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style. Long ageing turns the fresh apple towards dried fruit, honey and a soft spice. It runs a large still house at Elgin, expanded over the years to meet demand.

At a hearty 52.3% it carries real weight. A clean, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Pear, honey and a creamy toffee fill the middle. The close is light and clean, fruit over a gentle oak. This is a light, fruity Speyside single malt.
