An 18 year old Glen Moray from the London house Berry Bros and Rudd, distilled in 2007, from cask 5770, bottled at 56%, one of 163 bottles. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise.

It was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, building the fresh Glen Moray style. Most Glen Moray begins in American oak ex-Bourbon, the base for its cask finishes. At oxidative maturity vanillin and lactones are fully expressed, the light fruit deepening to honey. The clean, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and fruit to the fore. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. It was a pioneer of wine cask finishing, working with Chardonnay casks back in the 1990s. Most of its malt matures first in American oak ex-Bourbon before any cask finish.

At cask strength 56% it is full bodied. Pear, honey and a soft malt, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fresh and fruity, the light spirit shining through. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is Glen Moray's clean, accessible Speyside style.
