A Glen Keith of a 27 year old chosen by the Dutch bottler van Wees, distilled in 1991, from cask 73656, bottled at 48.4%, one of 169 bottles. Glen Keith is a Speyside single malt from Keith, the first new Speyside distillery since the 1898 crash. Its make went largely into the Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers blends.

The spirit was distilled from unpeated malt in tall, narrowing stills, for the light, fruity make Glen Keith is known for. A refill bourbon hogshead held it, keeping the fresh, fruity character to the fore. Through the evaporative decades the spirit concentrates, esters folding into mango, beeswax and a soft honey. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Keith character lead the way. It was built in 1957 by Seagram on the site of a meal mill, directly behind Strathisla. Its tall, narrowing stills give a light, fruity Speyside spirit. Built for the blender's art, the spirit ages with grace as a single malt.

At a natural 48.4% it is full and fruity. Apple, pear and a soft vanilla, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Pear, citrus and a creamy vanilla fill the middle. Apple, pear and a soft oak see out the finish. This is the light, fresh malt of Keith.
