This Fettercairn was bottled by Liquid Art, a 13 year old, distilled in 2009, bottled at 50.6%. Fettercairn is a Highland single malt shaped by the unique cooling rings on its stills. John Gladstone's son William became Prime Minister and reformed the taxation of whisky.

It was distilled slow and light for the tropical Fettercairn style, for a clean make of pineapple and citrus. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending vanilla and a little coconut. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper pineapple and pear. The cooling rings give a light spirit, so the cask brings depth over the years. Its water comes from springs in the Grampian and Cairngorm mountains above the distillery. Maturation on site in the Fettercairn dunnage warehouses is slow and steady. It uses unpeated malt and matures mostly in American oak ex-Bourbon casks.

At a natural 50.6% it is full and fruity. Tropical fruit, vanilla and a soft spice, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Mango, citrus and a creamy vanilla fill the middle. A clean finish ends on pineapple and a soft oak. This is the light, fruit driven malt of Fettercairn.
