A Caperdonich of a 19 year old from the London merchant Berry Bros and Rudd, at 55.9%. Tropical fruit, wax and a creamy oat run through it. With the distillery gone, every bottle is from a finite, dwindling stock. A pipeline once carried its make across the road to Glen Grant. This is a characterful relic of the lost Caperdonich.

Description
A Caperdonich of a 19 year old chosen by the London merchant Berry Bros and Rudd, distilled in 1992, from cask 121122, bottled at 55.9%. Caperdonich was built in 1898 as Glen Grant No.2, the sister distillery across the road from Glen Grant. It was extended to four stills in 1967, run by only a couple of workers.
Drawn off the tall stills on Caperdonich Burn water, to build a clean, waxy, fruity character. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood adding a light vanilla. In the oxidative middle years oxidation draws out waxy tropical fruit, vanillin and lactones fully expressed. Refill oak lets the soft, fruity Caperdonich character lead the way. It is named, like the burn, from the Gaelic for the secret well. A slow maturation suits the delicate, creamy make, the fruit turning tropical with time. The slow loss of the angel's share concentrates the fruity, waxy core over the decades. Closed in 2002 and later demolished, its profile is fixed for good.
At 55.9%, undiluted, it is deep and fruity. A waxy, pear scented fruitiness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A tropical fruit and a gentle oak give it depth. The finish is deep, waxy and tropical. This is the soft, fruity ghost of Glen Grant's sister.
