Bottled by Douglas Laing, this Cameronbridge, a 30 year old release distilled in 1992, from cask DL 16895 and bottled at 48.2%. Just 269 bottles were filled. Cameronbridge is a Lowland grain distillery in Fife, founded in 1824 by John Haig and now the largest distillery in Scotland. Its single grain has long been sold as Cameron Brig, and since 2014 as Haig Club.

The spirit was run off the distillery's three column stills from a wheat mash, to build a soft, sweet grain character. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, lending coconut and vanilla. Around twenty five years the grain gains a fuller toffee and an oily weight. Continuous distillation gives a light, clean spirit, so the cask drives much of the flavour. John Haig's cousin Robert Stein invented the continuous still, and Cameronbridge was among the first to run one. The Haig distilling dynasty traces its roots in Scottish whisky back to the 1600s. The distillery sits at Windygates in the Kingdom of Fife, near the River Leven.

Undiluted at 48.2%, it is layered. The ex-Bourbon gives coconut, vanilla and toffee. The texture is oily and buttery, the sweetness coating. The finish is deep, oily and creamy. This is a Lowland single grain from Fife.
