Dumangin J. Fils bottled this Cambus single grain, a 26 year old single grain distilled in 1993, from cask T-054 and bottled at 49.9%. A release of 310 bottles. Cambus was a founding distillery of DCL, making grain whisky in Clackmannanshire until it closed in 1993. John Moubray converted an old mill, switching from malt to grain stills in the 1830s.

The spirit was made in twin Coffey stills before the distillery closed, for a light, sweet make of real purity. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak for decades, the wood adding coconut and vanilla. Long ageing brings a deep coconut, toffee and a mellow, polished oak. Light grain takes oak readily, the ex-Bourbon lending coconut and vanilla over many years. It was one of the five grain distilleries that founded the Distillers Company Limited in 1877. In 1906 its grain was advertised as not a headache in a gallon, helping win the What is Whisky case. Closed in 1993, the site is now a Diageo cooperage beside the Blackgrange warehouses.

At a full 49.9% it is intense yet sweet. The ex-Bourbon gives crème brûlée, coconut and vanilla. A crème brûlée and a polished oak give it depth. The finish is deep, oily and creamy. This is a finite single grain from Cambus, closed in 1993.
