An official Tullibardine single malt, a 17 year old Highland malt from 2005, drawn from cask 150015 and bottled at 53.2%. Set at the foot of the Ochil Hills, Tullibardine has distilled since 1949. The name is Gaelic for lookout hill, after a nearby hill once used to watch for approaching strangers.

Distilled in copper stills on Ochil Hills spring water, giving the light, fruity spirit at its heart. Ex-Sherry wood added a dried fruit richness to the soft make. Around the mid teens the malt gains a fuller honey and a riper fruit. Sherry wood suits the soft make, lending dried fruit and a nutty depth. Delme-Evans, a noted gravity flow designer, also drew up the Jura and GlenAllachie distilleries. The malt also feeds the Highland Queen blend, another brand in the Picard stable. Part of the old estate was turned into a retail outlet during the lean years.

At cask strength 53.2% it is full bodied. Sherried dried fruit and a nutty edge come through, and the refill oak lending honey and vanilla runs under a mellow, honeyed character. A dried fruit and a soft oak give it depth. A warming, honeyed finish lingers. This is a gentle, honeyed Highland single malt.
