An official Tullibardine single malt matured to 48 year old from 1962, drawn from cask 3185 and bottled at 41.8%. Just 223 bottles were filled. Opened in 1949 at the foot of the Ochil Hills, Tullibardine is a soft, honeyed Highland malt. Water comes from the Ochil Hills springs, the same source as the Highland Spring bottled water.

Distilled in copper stills on Ochil Hills spring water, giving the light, fruity spirit at its heart. Ex-Sherry wood added a dried fruit richness to the soft make. At thirty years and more it is rich and mellow, candied fruit, honey and old oak in a deep old malt. A patient maturation suits the soft, honeyed Tullibardine character. Part of the old estate was turned into a retail outlet during the lean years. The distillery sits just off the A9 near Gleneagles, one of Scotland's more accessible. Under French wine ownership the distillery has leaned into its cask finishes.

At a natural 41.8% it is full and honeyed. The Oloroso adds figgy fruit and a warm nuttiness, and the refill oak lending honey and vanilla runs under a mellow, honeyed character. A dried fruit and a soft oak give it depth. The finish runs gentle, fruity and mellow. This is a gentle, honeyed Highland single malt.
