Tormore 10 Years Old 2015 Cask #3 (Signatory)

This Tormore was from the independent bottler Signatory Vintage, a 10 year old release from 2015, drawn from cask 3 and bottled at 46%. Only 895 bottles were released. Set on the A95 in the heart of Speyside, Tormore has distilled since 1960. Water comes from the Achvochkie Burn, flowing off the granite hills above.

Distilled in swan neck stills fitted with purifiers, on soft Achvochkie Burn water, giving the structured, nutty Speyside spirit. Ex-Sherry wood added a dried fruit richness to the clean make. Still young, the malt is light and nutty with a citrus lift. Long, gentle ageing turns the green spirit towards honey and nut. Tormore is cleaner than the waxy Clynelish, with more weight than the lightest Speysiders. The new owners released a Blueprint Series of 10 year olds in 2025 ahead of a full range.

At an approachable 46% it is light and balanced. The Oloroso adds figgy fruit and a warm nuttiness, and the refill oak lending honey and vanilla, with almond, apple and a clean citrus. The mouthfeel is light, the fruit carried on a nutty body. A gently drying, nutty finish lingers. This is a Speysider from the white cathedral of the Spey.
