From Moon-Import comes this Tomatin matured to 21 year old from 1977 and bottled at 56%. Only 820 bottles were released. Founded in 1897 high in the Monadhliath hills, Tomatin makes a soft, fruity Highland single malt. Water comes from the Allt na Frithe, the burn of the deer, in the Monadhliath hills.

It was made in copper stills from unpeated barley, for a fruity, mellow make. A refill bourbon cask held it, keeping the fruit to the fore. Past twenty years the spirit turns honeyed and full while staying soft. Sherry wood suits the soft make, lending dried fruit and a nutty depth. An old cattle drovers' road ran through Tomatin, and whisky was made here long before the distillery. The arrival of the Highland Railway in the 1890s made the distillery possible. It closed in 1906 and reopened in 1909, finding its feet over the following decades. The Antiquary blend came into the group through the blender J and W Hardie.

Bottled at a cask strength 56%, it is rich. Pear, honey and a malty note, and vanilla and a soft oak come from the bourbon wood. A dried fruit and a soft oak give it depth. Apple, honey and a soft oak see out the finish. This is a fruity Highland single malt from the Monadhliath hills.
