An official Talisker single malt, a 30 year old Skye malt and bottled at 57.3%. A release of 2958 bottles. Set at Carbost on Skye's wild west coast, Talisker has distilled since 1830. The tall wash stills carry U shaped lyne arms with purifier pipes, and the spirit runs into worm tubs.

Distilled in tall stills with U shaped lyne arms and condensed in worm tubs, from peated Glen Ord malt, building the smoky, briny Skye character. A European oak cask added a spiced, dried fruit edge to the smoke. Decades leave it deep and oxidative, mellow smoke and tropical fruit with a faint brine. A patient maturation suits the bold, maritime Talisker character. The distillery faces the water across to the hills of Skye. Talisker is made by the sea, and matured within reach of the salt air. The signature is a black pepper kick, the so called chilli catch, over maritime smoke.

At a natural 57.3% it is powerful and oily. The European oak adds a spiced, dried fruit edge, and a maritime smoke with a peppery bite sit over a vanilla from the refill oak beneath. A maritime salt and a chilli warmth give it real punch. A long, warming, peppery finish lingers. This is the maritime malt made by the sea on Skye.
