This is a Strathisla single malt, chosen and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, an 11 year old from 2006 and bottled at 43%. Set by the Isla in Keith, Banffshire, Strathisla has distilled since 1786. It is the oldest continuously operating distillery in the Scottish Highlands.

Distilled on soft Isla valley water in traditional pot stills, building the classic Strathisla style. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, lending honey and vanilla. Still young, the malt is honeyed and fruity with a creamy lift. The unpeated make lets the wood and the fruit speak without smoke. Few distilleries can claim an unbroken run of distilling as long as Strathisla's. The Isla valley's soft water and old stills shape a honeyed, fruity spirit. Strathisla is the oldest continuously working distillery in the Scottish Highlands, founded in 1786. The distillery stands among gardens by the rushing River Isla. The malt is the fruity heart of the Chivas Regal blend, owned by Chivas Brothers since 1950.

At 43% it is smooth and honeyed. A rich, fruity sweetness meet honeyed oak sweetness underneath. Beneath it run honey, pear and a soft spice. The close is warm, fruit over soft oak. This is the fruity Speyside heart of Chivas Regal.
