Drumguish Single Highland Malt DDL (Drumguish Distillery Ltd.)

This is a Speyside Distillery single malt, chosen and bottled by Drumguish Distillery Ltd and bottled at 40%. Set at Tromie Mills, the most southerly Speyside distillery, the Speyside Distillery was built by hand on a former barley mill site. It is the most southerly of the Speyside distilleries, nearest of all to the source of the Spey.

Distilled on River Tromie water in a tiny pair of pot stills, building the gentle Speyside style it is loved for. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, gentle American oak beneath the fruit. With no age statement, it shows a light, fruity body and a honeyed lift. The slow loss of the angel's share concentrates the honeyed, fruity core over time. A stonemason, Alex Fairlie, laid every stone of the distillery by hand over some twenty years. Its two pot stills are among the smallest in Scotland, the whole works under one roof. Water is drawn from the River Tromie through the old mill lade and waterwheel.

Bottled at 40%, it is rounded. A light, fruity sweetness meet soft vanilla and honey from the cask. Beneath it run apple, honey and a soft spice. The close is soft, fruit over gentle oak. This is a light, fruity Speyside single malt.
