Daily Dram bottled this Speyside Distillery single malt, aged 23 year old from 1997 and bottled at 46.9%. The Speyside Distillery was painstakingly built by hand before its first spirit in 1990 at Drumguish by the River Tromie, and its entire production sits under a single roof. Its two small pot stills, among the smallest in Scotland, sit with the whole production under one roof.

Distilled in two of the smallest pot stills in Scotland under a single roof, giving the delicate, floral spirit at its heart. Maturation came in American oak, with vanilla under the orchard fruit. Past sixteen years the spirit turns rich and honeyed while keeping its finesse. Years in oak round the spirit, the honey and orchard fruit deepening with age. Its two pot stills are among the smallest in Scotland, the whole works under one roof. Water is drawn from the River Tromie through the old mill lade and waterwheel.

At 46.9% it is supple and honeyed. Vanilla and a creamy note from the barrel runs under honey, apple and a soft spice. It is fragrant and rounded, the fruit and oak well matched. A long, honeyed finish carries a fruity lift. This is a clean, fragrant Speyside single malt.
