Description
Wilson & Morgan, the Italian independent behind the Barrel Selection range, drew this 21 Year Old, a small parcel of casks, a 1992 vintage, an outturn of 612 bottles. Mortlach is the Speyside outlier known as the Beast of Dufftown, its worm tubs and 2.81 distillation building a dense, sulphury, meaty spirit.
Twenty-one years across Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez loaded the bold, full-bodied make with dried fruit, the sherries' melanoidins and residual sugars giving raisin, date, fig and chocolate.
At 50% it shows honey, undiluted. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
