Description
Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, selected this 11 Year Old: from a 2014 vintage. Mortlach is Speyside's great meaty malt, its 1823 Dufftown stillhouse using worm tubs and a 2.81 distillation that defies the region's lighter norm.
Across eleven years the Oloroso butt loaded the heavy spirit with date, raisin and a nutty edge, weight and sherry meeting head on.
At 57.1% it shows a sherried depth, chocolate, dried fruit, malt extract, a nutty weight and an oily texture, undiluted. The savoury Dufftown style.
