Description
Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, drew this 15 Year Old, a small parcel of casks, a 2008 vintage. Mortlach, the first licensed distillery in Dufftown, runs a 2.81-times distillation and worm-tub condensers that give the heavy, meaty spirit fans call the Beast of Dufftown.
Across fifteen years the oak's ellagitannins added structure while oxidation deepened the meaty spirit into cooked fruit and leather.
At 46% it shows fresh fruit, citrus and chocolate. A Beast of Dufftown.
