Description
Hart Brothers, bottling single casks from Glasgow since the 1960s, released this 14 Year Old: from a 1997 vintage. Mortlach, long the muscular heart of the Johnnie Walker blends, draws its meaty depth from low-copper worm tubs and a 2.81-times distillation regime.
By fourteen years the bourbon oak had knitted with the gamey, savoury spirit, caramelised hemicellulose lending fudge alongside the meaty depth.
At 46% it shows malt, dried fruit and a leathery edge over the oily Mortlach weight. The savoury Dufftown style.
