Description
Duncan Taylor, the Huntly independent with one of Scotland's deepest cask inventories, released this 13 Year Old, a 1993 distillation. Mortlach, the first licensed distillery in Dufftown, runs a 2.81-times distillation and worm-tub condensers that give the heavy, meaty spirit fans call the Beast of Dufftown.
Thirteen years in a Port cask gave the oily, meaty spirit plum, red cherry and a soft tannic grip.
At 46% it shows red fruit, raisin and a soft tannic grip carried on the heavy Dufftown body. A muscular Speyside malt.
