Description
Bottled by the distillery, this 23 Year Old is an official Mortlach. It draws on a 1972 vintage. The first legal distillery in Dufftown, Mortlach builds its meaty weight through low-copper worm tubs and the 2.81 distillation, and has anchored Johnnie Walker for a century.
By twenty-three years the dense Mortlach spirit had grown deep and meaty, cumulative oxidation building leather, nuts and dried fruit as the strength eased.
At 59.4% it shows vanilla, cooked fruit and a savoury weight on Mortlach's muscular frame, undiluted. A meaty, muscular Mortlach.
