Description
Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, has bottled Miltonduff as a single malt for generations. This Rare Vintage 39 Year Old is a 1969 vintage matured in Oloroso. Miltonduff, a light, floral Speyside from near Elgin, its spirit long destined for the Ballantine's blend.
By thirty-nine years the sherry, oxidation and evaporation had taken the delicate Speyside make to its limit, dried fruit and leather worn soft, the strength near 40%.
At 43% it shows deep sherried dried fruit over the worn floral body. A 1969 Rare Vintage 39.
