Description
Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, has bottled Miltonduff as a single malt for generations. This Rare Vintage 34 Year Old is a 1968 vintage, bottled in 2002. Miltonduff, the floral Speyside distilled where Pluscarden Abbey's old meal mill once stood, long a heart of Ballantine's.
Thirty-four years in a bourbon cask carried the soft, floral character to the edge of its life, ethereal beeswax and ester fruit, the tannins held just short of bitterness.
At 40% it shows soft, deep mature fruit over the floral character. A 1968 Rare Vintage 34.
