Description
Duncan Taylor, the Huntly independent founded in 1938 with one of Scotland's deepest cask inventories. Mosstowie was the heavier malt Miltonduff made on its Lomond stills between 1964 and 1981, a separate spirit from the same Speyside distillery. This Rarest of the Rare 30 Year Old is a 1975 ex-Bourbon single cask, number 5814, an outturn of 191.
Thirty years in a bourbon cask carried the fuller Mosstowie spirit to the edge of its life, ethereal beeswax and ester fruit, the tannins held just short of bitterness.
At 48.1% it shows deep mature orchard fruit and vanilla, undiluted. A 1975 Mosstowie.
