Description
Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895 and famed for its old stocks, bottles this Inchmurrin in its Rare Old range. Loch Lomond's floral island malt, a 29 year old from 1973, the distillery's early years.
Twenty-nine years in ex-Bourbon mature the floral spirit deeply, the gentle oak giving vanilla while evaporation slowly drew down the cask toward 40%.
At 40% it shows the soft, worn maturity of a great age, the floral Inchmurrin fruit folded into vanilla. A rare 1973 Inchmurrin.
