The East Village Whisky Company, a modern independent, bottles this Croftengea, a peat-forward Loch Lomond malt, a mature 19 year old from 2006 in Oloroso.
Nineteen years in Oloroso lend dried fruit over the peat, the cask's melanoidins giving fig and raisin against the smoke.
At 53.1% the sherried fruit plays against a softened wood smoke, guaiacol and phenols carrying the reek. A sherried mature Croftengea.
