Description
The Vintage Malt Whisky Company is a Glasgow independent behind the Finlaggan and Cooper's Choice lines. Distilled in 1985 and bottled in 2012, this is a 27 year old Littlemill, from cask 109, in The Cooper's Choice range. What remains is all that ever will, the distillery long since lost.
Twenty-seven years in a refill bourbon cask keep its creamy-fudge Lowland sweetness bright.
At 46%, light vanilla and coconut from the American oak. On the palate, citrus, fresh fruit, honey. In the ex-Bourbon cask, lignin breaks down to vanillin for the vanilla note, while oak lactones lend a soft coconut sweetness. At such an age the spirit has given freely to the angels, the strength easing as the flavour deepens.
