The Laing family has bottled whisky from Glasgow since 1948, Douglas Laing carrying the name. This bottling is a 25 year old Littlemill, from cask DL 10349, laid down in 1988 and drawn off in 2014. The distillery is gone, so what survives in cask is all there will ever be.

It spent twenty-five years in ex-Bourbon, long enough to round Littlemill's light, vanilla-laced make.

Bottled undiluted at 56.2%, the ex-Bourbon gives vanilla and a creamy oak. The profile runs to a mineral edge. A refill barrel works slowly: vanillin for vanilla, lactones for coconut, and oxidation building soft orchard fruit. Decades of slow evaporation have softened the strength and concentrated the fruit, the price of great age in a damp warehouse.
