van Wees is a Dutch independent behind the long-running Ultimate range. Filled in 2010 and bottled in 2020, the whisky is a 9 year old Linkwood, from cask 306195, from The Ultimate range.
It spent nine years in ex-Bourbon, long enough to round Linkwood's hallmark floral lift.
At 56.5%, undiluted, soft vanilla and oak come from the ex-Bourbon. It carries a hay-like note, a savoury edge, plastic, a waxy note, vanilla.
