Description
This 1988 Lagavulin was bottled by Moon-Import for its In the Pink series, a 12 year old single cask from ex-Bourbon cask 2032, an outturn of 341 bottles, one of several sibling casks. Established in 1816, Lagavulin sits in a quiet bay on the south of Islay.
A long, slow distillation through onion-shaped stills shapes the peated make. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, twelve years carry a bright smoke.
Bottled at 46%. The smoke comes off the phenols and guaiacol, vanilla coming up from the oak. An In the Pink single cask Lagavulin, sibling to cask 2028.
