Valinch & Mallet bottled this 9 year old 2012 Knockdhu for The Young Masters Edition from ex-Bourbon cask 71537, an outturn of 376 bottles. The distillery near Knock in Banffshire sells its malt as anCnoc; bottlers like this use the Knockdhu name. Founded in 1894, it remains one of Scotland's smallest distilleries.
The stills came back into use in 1989. Over nine years the ex-Bourbon cask rounds the young malt with vanilla and gentle oak.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 52.6%. The ex-Bourbon lends vanilla and coconut, the full strength sharpening the fresh fruit. A young independent single cask.
