Jack Wiebers Whisky World bottled this 16 year old 2006 Knockdhu for its Old Train Line range from ex-Bourbon cask 5264, an outturn of 220 bottles. The distillery at Knock, in Banffshire sells its malt as anCnoc; bottlers like this use the Knockdhu name. This cask shows the distillery's peated side.
Reopened by Inver House in 1989, the distillery makes a light Highland spirit with occasional peated runs. Over sixteen years the ex-Bourbon cask rounds the smoke with vanilla and soft oak.
Bottled without dilution at 53.2%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the smoke coming from peat phenols. The profile runs to a kippery maritime note and smoke. A peated independent single cask.
