Description
Peat was released in 2019 to mark the 125th anniversary of Knockdhu distillery, founded at Knock in Banffshire in 1894, a peated expression with an outturn of 3,000 bottles. The whisky carries the anCnoc name, Gaelic for the hill, adopted to prevent confusion with Knockando.
One of Scotland's smallest distilleries, reopened by Inver House in 1989, Knockdhu occasionally distils a peated spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, the bourbon vanilla balances the gentle peat.
Bottled at 46%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla with the smoke from peat phenols over the fresh, fruity malt. A peated anniversary anCnoc.
