Description
Signatory bottled this 16 year old 2008 Knockando for its Cask Strength Collection from ex-Bourbon cask 102, an outturn of 341 bottles. Knockando, founded in 1898 in Speyside, is the heart of the J&B blend and is rarely seen at full strength.
In Diageo hands today, the distillery makes a light, elegant Speyside spirit. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over sixteen years, the wood frames the malt undiluted.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 51%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee, the full strength lifting the soft Speyside fruit. A cask strength independent Knockando.
