Gordon & MacPhail bottled this 10 year old 2015 Knockando from ex-Bourbon cask 1282 at full strength, an outturn of 157 bottles. Knockando is rarely seen as a cask strength single cask, making this an unusual look at the Speyside distillery founded in 1898, the heart of the J&B blend.
Now owned by Diageo, Knockando makes a light, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over ten years, the wood frames the malt undiluted.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 57%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, the full strength sharpening the soft, fruity character. A rare cask strength single-cask Knockando.
