Description
This Extra Old Reserve was distilled in 1968 and bottled in 1993 at twenty-five years old, in the distillery's square decanter. Knockando, founded in 1898 in Speyside, is the heart of the J&B blend and dates its bottlings by vintage in a matured not aged style.
Now part of Diageo, Knockando makes a light, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks across twenty-five years, the wood slowly deepened the malt.
Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee over an aged, waxy character. A rare 1968 vintage in the square decanter.
