This Single Cask is a 3 year old from 2016, drawn from ex-Bourbon barrel 1610698 for Germany. An outturn of 258 bottles. Kingsbarns is a Lowland distillery in the East Neuk of Fife, founded by the Wemyss family in 2014.
Set in a restored farm steading near St Andrews, Kingsbarns runs long-necked stills for a light, fruity, unpeated spirit. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, the wood frames the very young malt.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 61.4%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut, the youth keeping it fresh and lively at full strength. A young single cask from the Fife distillery.
