Description
Sanaig is one of Kilchoman's core expressions, named for an inlet on the Islay coast near Rockside Farm. Kilchoman is the only farm distillery on Islay, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005.
The distillery malts barley on site and bottles on the farm, the barley to bottle philosophy. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, the wood frames the young peated spirit with vanilla and citrus.
Bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded note is chocolate, over the maritime, smoky core. A peated, coastal Kilchoman.
