Description
This is the 2025 Edition of Kilchoman Loch Gorm, a 10 year old matured fully in Oloroso sherry, the latest in the distillery's annual sherried release. Named for the dark loch on Islay, it is the sherried counterpart to Machir Bay. Anthony Wills founded Kilchoman in 2005; it is the only farm distillery on Islay.
The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on site, a barley to bottle approach. Matured in Oloroso casks across ten years, the sherry wood deepens the young peated spirit.
Bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, with peat phenols carrying the smoke. The recorded notes run to smoke, dried fruit, a sherried character, honey, fresh oak and leather. The 2025 sherried Loch Gorm.
