This Kilchoman Le Comptoir Irlandais Small Batch was made for the French retailer, vatted from ex-Bourbon, Oloroso and Fino casks. An outturn of 1,260 bottles. Founded by Anthony Wills in 2005 at Rockside Farm, Kilchoman is the only farm distillery on Islay.
Every stage from malting to bottling happens at Rockside Farm. Matured across ex-Bourbon, Oloroso and Fino casks, the dry Fino balances the richer Oloroso.
Bottled at 49.2%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, the Fino a dry nutty edge, while peat phenols carry the smoke. A multi-cask small batch for a French retailer.
