Description
The Tastival 2016 was Isle of Jura's festival release that year, matured in Fino and Oloroso sherry and bottled at a cask strength 51%. An outturn of 8,000 bottles. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 for a light, Highland-style spirit.
The distillery's light, clean spirit takes a double sherry maturation well. Matured in Fino and Oloroso casks, the dry Fino and the richer Oloroso together give a layered sherry character.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 51%. The Fino stays dry and nutty, the Oloroso adds fig and raisin from its melanoidins. The recorded notes run to a sherried character, a nutty note, cooked fruit, dried fruit, honey and seasoned oak. A sherried festival edition Jura.
